Developing a Virtual Intelligent Preceptor (VIP) for Individualized Surgical Training

Introduction: 

With recent advances in virtual reality (VR) technologies, VR simulation has become an important component of medical education and training reforms. However, the major limitation of current simulation systems is that they fail to account for individual learning needs of each trainee. Therefore, we propose a virtual intelligent preceptor (VIP), an intelligent agent-based architecture for individualized surgical training in a VR simulation environment.
